Animals

Animals is where we have typed up sections on this page for different animals one by one. We will sometimes add more animals, but the list will not be in alphabetical order, so we apologize if you need to scroll down and up a bunch before you find the animal you are looking for. If you want to quickly find what animals we have on this page, look at the sidebar on the right. Also, we will sometimes add information to some animals.
We also have a nice presentation for you. It compares and contrasts the desert hedgehog from the royal penguin. Check it out at http://prezi.com/ja5ifov-nz22/compare-and-contrast/

Desert Hedgehogs

The desert hedgehog is just about the smallest hedgehog and can only grow up to just under 1 foot. The colour banding on their spines can make them look like a four-toed hedgehog, but these desert hedgehogs are usually identified by their dark muzzle. If they feel threatened, their muscles tense up and pull on the outer skin layer of the body, making its spines stick out in every which way. In addition, these spines tend to be longer than the spines of other hedgehogs, meaning better protection from the predator. This also makes it so that people can barely catch one.

Royal Penguins

The Royal Penguin is one of the crested penguins; a different genus from the similarly named king penguin and emperor penguin. People have been debating over whether or not royal penguins could be a subspecies of macaroni penguins. They can grow 76 centimetres long and weigh around 18 pounds. Males are larger than females.
