Protists

We will try our best to find information on a bunch of different protists. Check the list on the right to see what we have at the moment.
Protists are eukaryotic microorganisms that belong to kingdom Protista. People have attempted to remove this large kingdom from taxonomy but they failed.

Amoeba

An amoeba is a unicellular organism that doesn't have a real shape. They move by using pseudopodia, also called "false feet", which are formed by throwing out the ectoplasm, and flowing the endoplasm inward. Early naturalists had referred to amoeba as the Proteus animalcule after the Greek god Proteus, who could shape-shift.

Protozoa

Protozoa are unicellular eukaryotic organisms with animal-like behaviour. Many of them are symbionts, but some of them are parasites, and others are predators of soil bacteria and algae. Protozoa are referred to as animal-like protists because of their movement (motility). However, it is a paraphyletic group; it does not include all the genetic relatives of the group. There isn't an exact definition for protozoa, though it is usually referred to as a unicellular heterotrophic protist, along with amoeba and ciliates.

So far we have information on:
